News

Welcome to the first Crescent newsletter, a monthly update to keep you informed about practice news, provide informative articles and interesting stories about some of goings on at the practice.

New Staff Member!

We have recently welcomed a new vet to our team, Charlotte Aston, who has moved into the area from Liverpool, Charlotte has over 7 years experience in small animal practice. She is settling in well and enjoying her new life in Melton.

March is Oral Care Month

Pedigree are sponsoring Canine Oral Care Month in March. Dental disease is a common finding, especially in older dogs. Not only can it be painful it can also cause more serious problems such as liver disease. This month we are offering free dental checks for dogs. Further information is available in the clinic.

Crescent Vets on the World Wide Web

As we are now well into the 21st century we are aware that many of you will have access to the Internet at home. I’m sure that some of you will have visited our website and noticed that in recent times it has not been updated very often.
Well, this is all to change, in the coming months we are aiming to get the website up-to-date so that, along with the newsletter, we can keep you informed about what’s going on at the surgery.

On a similar note we also have plans to start an electronic mailing list, this will allow us to keep you up to speed with any major news, special offers and a monthly electronic copy of the newsletter.
If you would like to sign up to the mailing list you will find forms at reception where you can leave your details with us. Alternatively you can send your name, home address and your email address to crescentvetclinic@googlemail.com.
No information will be passed to any third parties and we will only email you with information regarding the practice, you will not receive emails from anyone other than us!

Peter has been with the Crescent for over 12 years and many of you will already know him well. Peter enjoys working with both small and large animals and is experienced enough to deal with any pet, from hamsters through to Great Danes!

Outside of work Peter enjoys walking his dog Oliver, and watching cricket (since he does not have enough time to play!) although these days most of his time and energy goes into running The Crescent!

Sophie Stacey

Name – Sophie Stacey
Breed – Springer Spaniel
Age – 6 years
Favourite Food – Fresh liver with kibble
Favourite Toy – Plastic squeaky boot

Sophie has been a regular visitor to The Crescent since she was diagnosed with canine lymphoma at the beginning of last year. She has been coping well on chemotherapy and is enjoying a normal life at home despite her illness. Although the Crescent is not her favourite place she is always friendly and well behaved.

Sophie will receive a goody bag kindly sponsored by National Veterinary Services®.
